Music can assist a worshiping heart but it cannot create a worshiping heart
-Sheryl Brady-
Everyone can sing God’s praises, even an unbeliever. “Look at how majestic those mountains are, God is great.” Unaware, this is praise to our God.
Worship however takes more than words spoken as praise to God. Worship takes a surrendered heart to the Lord. (The owner and master of your life) It takes a heart that daily puts itself on the alter and burns to bring glory to God in all it does. Constantly being in the fire (Holy Spirit) to be refined and made more like Christ.
Being at a worship gathering is an experience like no other, in such an atmosphere so much takes place, there’s healing, breakthrough, restoration and revelation that breaks forth. However the question is, what does life look like after these amazing Spirit filled moments? I would like to believe the same way as one would drink water and maintain a good healthy diet after spending a few hours at gym and having an amazing workout, we too should work out our worship beyond the four walls of our gatherings.
Our diet being the Word, prayer, fasting and keeping around us those who keep the fire burning. Our gym partners 😉
Let’s study 2 Chronicles 29
V5. He said to them, “Listen to me, you Levites! Purify yourselves, and purify the Temple of the LORD, the God of your ancestors. Remove all the defiled things from the sanctuary.
This whole chapter speaks of God restoring the temple!!!!! Using LEVITES! (WORSHIP LEADER TRIBE)
In the begining it explains why the temple was in ruins, because their anccestors turned off the lamps (Word) and stopped burning incense (prayer) this is why the temple was in ruins. But Levites went to the temple to CLEAN IT UP! CLEANED THEMSELVES UP AND CLEANED UP THE HOLY TEMPLE OF OUR GOD!!!
V11. My sons, do not neglect your duties any longer! The LORD has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to him.
V15. These men called together their fellow Levites, and they all purified themselves. Then they began to cleanse the Temple of the LORD, just as the king had commanded. They were careful to follow all the LORD’s instructions in their work.
They called their fellow Levites!!!
In verse 21 After speaking to the people, the King called the singers to walk ahead of the army!!!!🙆🏾 As the levites did so, their enemies started fighting amongst themselves! This shows the power of praise and worship! Whatever you consider an enemy is your life, whatever tries to rise agaisnt the Lordship of Christ, whether it’s poverty, sin, sickness, lack. It scatters in worship through the power of the Holy Spirit. But the worship does not begin with the singing, it starts with restoring the order of the temple (you, you are the temple) puting the lamps (Word) back on. Burning the incense of prayer and pursuing Intimacy with God.
May the Holy Spirit help us to live out our worship beyond the four walls of the Sunday morning praise and worship set list. Let’s keep it going guys. Keep it flowing. LIKE THE WADDEERRRR lol
Love Lebo
Oh amen and amen. This is specifically my sermon for the day. As i repent and ask God to give me the urge to keep my lamb on and incence burning. To sustain me and never be comfortable in worshipping Him only around the 4 walls. May i worship Him day in and out, with no limitation. Lord restore my worship. Thank you Sis Lebo for the Word❤❤

Hi aus’ Lebo
Firstly congratulations on this part of your calling.
You know God works in miraculous ways, and His Sovereignty is always unmatched.Recently I have been telling Him how much I do not truly understand what worship means.I believe He is just beginning to answer my questions through your blogs, wow! Praise Yeshua!!!
wow I am so glad to know that God is answering your questions through this platform Tshepo. thank you for sharing, this is absolutely encouraging!
“…the worship does not begin with the singing, it starts with restoring the order of the temple… puting the lamps (Word) back on….burning the incense of prayer and pursuing Intimacy with God”. I love this help us Holy Spirit
restoring the order of the temple my Sax. pursuing intimacy!
Oh wow man this was an amazing read, something that was just in my heart a few hours ago, just the elements of worship in the secret place, just asking the Holy Spirit how can I get to that place, I get to when someone else gets me or leads me to during a worship night etc. Loved this so much Lebo and love you even more xoxo
Worship in the secret place sis. where only God sees. yes amen!
Hi Lebo! Thank you for this, I had already started restoring my Worship by reading the word and prayer consistently. However the are distractions. Sometimes I find myself a few steps back.
How do I tackle things like that!? I’ve prayed to God to help me block out distractions. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy that’s why I won’t stop but instead keep going.
I myself struggle with distractions and inconsistency. I think having tools to help yourself is a practical way to go about this Siya; for example, I play worship music and search for sermons online. This can be very helpful, however be careful not to neglect pushing yourself to reading scripture on your own and having a full on praise and worship n your own. it may feel weird but there’s so much honesty in that, an authenticity you can’t help but feel. singing on your own to God with no audience. try it, it’s so beautiful.
Lesego from We Will Worship once shared this with me and it stuck to me since; in the Kingdom of God, we do not eat because we are hungry, we eat to get hungry. Meaning the more you study the Word of God, the hungrier you become for it.
I hope this is helpful Siya.
My God “But the worship doesn’t start with singing”…. This is truly what we all need to imprint in our minds and hearts. Seeking Him daily, spending intimate time with God is where it starts. As I work on that, I pray and believe that His glory will manifest. Thank you sis Lebo
This is amazing!
Thank you Mpumi!
Amen. This is beautiful. God is calling worshipers to worship in Spirit and it Truth and it starts by doing this in our daily lifestyle as you have mentioned, a heart surrendered to Christ that loves daily in the word and prayer
We thank the Lord for you, may God continue to bless you and enlarge your territory as you continue to serve Him
thank you Nomcebo. Yes in Spirit and in Truth, in our daily lives let us be surrendered to Christ.
Wow. This word truly touched me to go deeper in worship and to ensure that all is in order with this temple. I can’t wait for more, thank you for this!
amen Lesego, let us continually evaluate ourselves. check if all is order in the Temple. Blessings.
“But the worship doesn’t begin with singing, it starts with restoring the order of the temple (myself), outing the lamps (the word) on”
Amen and Amen. Thank you For this Sis Lebo . Can’t wait for the next read
Amen sis. It’s so much more than our singing!
